About The Role
Uber is one of the largest and most complex merchants globally, collecting and disbursing billions of dollars of payments each month across a variety of payment methods. Uber's Core Payments team is responsible for all such financial transactions to make sure both incoming and outgoing payments are seamless, cost-effective, and reliable.
We're seeking a new, senior member to join our Card Payments team, focusing on optimizing payment approval rates across our diverse range of products, regions, and payment methods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong grasp of payment technology, coupled with the ability to translate that knowledge into practical solutions.
What You'll Do
Own the key metrics around payments lifecycle, and identify actionable insights to improve the customer experience, and lower processing costs. Collaborate with product, engineering, data science, and operations teams to monitor and optimize payment conversion funnels. Build the internal playbook for a low-friction and delightful customer payment experience. Partner with processors, issuers, and other payment partners to build and implement a sustainable long-term strategic vision. Ensure the timely identification and restoration of issues impacting our customers and business. Stay current on industry trends to uncover new opportunities and manage upcoming regulatory
Basic Qualifications:
6+ years of experience at a high-growth tech company or payments company Strong knowledge of SQL, and experience with building data visualizations and dashboards
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of SQL, and experience with building data visualizations and dashboards Experience with payments processing, optimization. Familiarity with metrics like authorization rate, decline rate, 3DS, strong customer authentication Experience with payments cost analysis is a plus. Familiarity with interchange fee, scheme fees Ability to navigate through ambiguous payments projects, issues and requirements Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks and stakeholders Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with business partners Experience driving business results without significant supervision
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$158,000 per year - USD$175,500 per year. For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$142,000 per year - USD$158,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
