Director, Payment Pricing & Operations
The Role:
The Director of Payment Pricing & Operations is a senior role at Toast responsible for leading and scaling the Toast Payment Pricing & Operations team, effective GTM and portfolio payments pricing strategy, customer communication frameworks, and playing a key role in driving Toast’s pricing strategy overall. End-to-end responsibilities include strategic initiative planning and execution, team leadership, customer experience and day-to-day pricing operations. The Director will partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Payments Optimization, Commercialization, Product Marketing, Finance and other relevant teams to drive innovative and effective payment pricing strategies, in addition to partnering with Product, Engineering and Business Systems to increase operational efficiency and scale in a hyper-growth environment.
About this roll* (Responsibilities):
Lead a large, global organization composed of several high-performing teams focused on the growth and scale of Payment Pricing at Toast. Enable, mentor and inspire teams to scale the business and deliver a world class experience for internal and external customersBecome a subject matter expert regarding Toast’s payment solutions, deeply understand the payments value proposition and how Toast Payments specifically meets restaurant needsOwn and deliver a best-in-class payments pricing experience by developing innovative ideas to transform, optimize, and automate pricing processes and procedures for scale, in partnership with Product/EngineeringPartner closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Marketing, and Commercialization) to drive Fintech strategic initiatives to the finish lineMaintain and drive SLAs and accountability through KPI establishment and metrics managementImplement policies and procedures that improve deal economics and reduce risk, while improving overall performance and time to quoteServe as an escalation point as needed for Sales and Customer Success leaders
Do you have the right ingredients?
7+ years of relevant experienceExpert level understanding of interchange, scheme fees, and payment acceptance pricing strategiesBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferredProven ability to manage and develop high-performing teamsStrong experience with MS Excel, SQL (Snowflake) and data visualization tools such as Hex/Tableau/Looker/SigmaStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to understand stakeholder needs and develop effective services and processes in responseDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and team-oriented environment that is dynamic and subject to rapid changeStrong organizational skills; metric driven and operationally minded, highly motivatedStrong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.
Pay Range
$151,000—$242,000 USD
